About Cobblestone Creek Concerts

Your first question may be, "What is a house concert?" Rather than blab on let's just look at a couple of sites where other folks have done a good job explaining kind of what we do and even kind of why we do it. There's a good Wiki here and a good FAQ here. There are lots of other references all over the web.

You're next question is probably, "Who are these people?" Here's a blurb from a newspaper article about us.

Glen and LaJeanna Pilant have been ardent music supporters for over thirty years. Whether you call it Folk, Acoustic, Singer-Songwriter, Americana or AAA, the Pilant's have been in and around it since they met in 1978. Their first date was at the venerable Houston folk club, Anderson Fair, which led them to the Kerrville Folk Festival a few short weeks later. They were married up on Chapel Hill at the Folk Festival the following summer and have been back every year since combining their love of music with their love of the outdoors, camping and volunteerism. When the Folk Festival performers arrive at Kerrville, the Pilants are often the first faces they see since both volunteer their time at the VIP check-in booth. In fact, Glen is the VIP Crew Leader as well as a song screener for the renowned New Folk songwriters competition at the festival.

The Pilant's vision of the modern House Concert scene is an outgrowth of the Kerrville Folk Festival as an attempt to carry the great music and atmosphere of the famous Festival campfires back into the year round daily city life.

When Glen started his career as an Air Traffic Controller in 1987, the Pilants left Texas for a few years in Oklahoma and Arkansas. When they arrived back in San Antonio in 1991 they learned about the Urban Campfires House Concert series that had started up a couple of years earlier. The Pilants jumped in with both feet and in 1994 found themselves running the series in their living room. In 1998 they decided to sell their house in town and build out in the country where they started the Hill Country House Concert series in Bulverde, TX.

Now they are in Norman, Oklahoma and they've decided to try it again by starting the Cobblestone Creek Concert series. In addition to Folk Music, they enjoy gardening, camping and golf.
